February 18th to April 15th, 2019, I spent two months of my year volunteering at a special needs center. There I met some people that I hold dear to my heart.

Through these portraits that I discovered the ways art enables connection. Not only did the kids and the teachers of the center open up to me, people on the streets would often stop, watch, and start a conversation as I drew. Drawing — it's quite a good way to get to know people :)
